ICT In Education Course Week 4 : Discussion 1

In the same day we were asked to fill in the discussion forum provided on the learning media. The topic discussed is “The 21st century is marked by, among other, the rapid development technology and its pervasive use in various fields of life, including in education. IN YOUR OPINION, HOW should you as learners need to be prepared? WHAT KINDS of skills do you need to have? WHO should be responsible for such preparations? WHEN and WHERE?”. After we give our opinion about this topic we are asked to give comment for opinion from two of our friends.
And this is my contribution for this discussion.

In my opinion as a learner we must understand once the challenges that exist in the 21st century before we set a strategy to deal with it and prepare what skills we must have. As we know in the 21st century this is the era of technology that is very developed in various fields and therefore to deal with it we must prepare the skills to support it, there are some important skills in my opinion that we must prepare, including

1.     Language skill
One of the skills that must be possessed is the skill in speaking specifically for English which is an international language. why is English, because in the current technological era almost all matters relating to technology use English in learning it. Therefore, understanding foreign languages, especially English is very important in order to be able to follow developments that occur.
2.     Technology skills
In accordance with the era that we are going through now the ability to use technology is needed especially the most common thing that people know is the internet. in the learning process at this time it is very true that teachers use the internet as a learning medium for their students. Therefore to operate it we must master the skills in technology.
3.     Critical Thinking Skills
This skill is needed in this era because we must prepare ourselves to face problems that will occur in the future
These three skills must be possessed by us as learners from an early age.

And this is my comment to one of opinion from my friend Muhammad Taufan Zhafran
