Author's Introduction

Hello guys! Welcome to my English Learning Blog This post will be my first post on this blog, I think in this first post we need a little introduction about me as the author of this blog. OK, My name is Fabiyan Junino Elindika, I was born in Bukittinggi on June 20, 2000, I live in Tanjung Jabung Barat since 18 years ago, which previously I lived in Padang, and now I am one of the students at Jambi University majoring in English education. Create an Online Quiz Using Kahoot!

Kahoot!  is a free game-based platform where students can participate and get a response from the teachers in real time. The Kahoot tool is like an advanced platform for learning and playing games. The platform also lets others create and launch their own games so other players can also play and explore the new games every day. The platform is used by millions of people around the world to discover, play and share a variety of games with others. It’s like a collaborative platform for learning new things on a daily basis. TELL Course Topic 5 : Technology & Teaching Vocabulary

TELL Course Topic 4 : Technology & Speaking

This is the second topic that we language through this online lecture which is about Techology and Speaking and there are several videos we have to watch to help our understanding of this material. In this video some examples of websites are given that can help students improve their speaking ability, one of which is a website that can be used to improve students' pronunciation when speaking this website is called  Youglish.com YouGlish.com  is a website that you can find on the Internet that allows students to type in something that they would like say but don’t know how to pronounce. TELL Course Topic 3 : Technology & Listening

This is our first online lecture because the Corona virus pandemic which caused face-to-face lectures must be stopped. In the first topic in this online lecture we discussed Technology and Listening with Mr. Dedy Kurniawan, to convey the material, the lecturer used an existing e-learning site  e-learning.english.unja.ac.id by giving videos from YouTube to help our understanding of the material being taught, after that there were some questions that had to be answered to find out how we understood the information conveyed through video the. TELL Course Week 8 : Create a Question using Hot Potatoes

At this eighth meeting On Monday, March 09, 2020. We were assigned to make a question or quiz using one application called Hot Potatoes.  The Hot Potatoes suite includes five applications, enabling you to create interactive multiple-choice, short-answer, jumbled-sentence, crossword, matching/ordering and gap-fill exercises for the World Wide Web. Hot Potatoes is freeware, and you may use it for any purpose or project you like. It is not open-source. By using Hot Potatoes, we can make our own test online.  There are six features that can be used to create questions or quizzes with various forms in this Hot Potatoes application, including: l multiple-choice quizzes (JBC) l gap-fill exercises (JClose) l text-entry (short-answer) exercises (JQuiz) l crosswords (JCross) l jumbled-sentence/jumbled-word (drag-and-drop) exercises (JMix) l ordering/matching (drag-and-drop) exercises (JMatch ) This is one example of multiple choice questions that I made using the JQuiz

TELL Course Week 7 : Technology for Teaching Grammar and Vocabulary

At this seventh meeting On Monday, March 02, 2020. It was an opportunity for my group and one other group to discuss about the syllabus that we had designed, which was about techology for teaching grammar and vocabulary. In this syllabus, especially my group that discusses technology for teaching vocabulary, we provide a sample website that can be used by teachers to create an interesting quiz for students to test their understanding of English vocabulary, the website name is  Kahoot.com and very easy to use. And from other groups discussing technology for teaching grammar, in their syllabus they provide an example of a website that can be used by teachers to provide exercises such as quizzes about grammar to their students and see how well their students will understand the material delivered, this website is called  Englishclub.com  . TELL Course Week 6 : Technology for Teaching Speaking

At this sixth meeting, On Monday, February 24, 2020. It was an opportunity for the next group to present the syllabus teaching that they had designed, which was about teaching speaking. In this Speaking learning, we can utilize technology, especially the internet, because we can find a variety of learning media such as videos that we can use as a reference to improve our Speaking ability. One example of a website from the internet  chosen by them in this syllabus  that we can use as a reference for how to deliver a good speech, namely TED Talks , on this website there are a lot of video speeches originating from speakers from all over the world that we can use as examples in delivering a speech . TELL Course Week 5 : Technology for Teaching Listening

At the fifth meeting On Monday, February 17, 2020. The time for the next group is the third group to present syllabus that they have designed about Teaching Listening and what technology can be used by the teacher to support the learning process of Listening. Listening skills at this time is one of the most important skills because we can know that most of the information conveyed through the internet at this time is in the form of audio or video that can be heard and must have good Listening skills to get that information, and many also website or application that can help improve listening skills from the internet.  Same thing with the previous group object in this learning is English Education (Bachelor Degree). At the fourth meeting on Monday, February 10, 2020. The time for the next group was the second group to present the syllabus they had designed about Teaching Reading and also what technology teachers could use in supporting the learning process. We can know that technology plays an important role in supporting the learning process especially Teaching Reading because there are many learning resources or learning media from the internet that can improve students' reading skills. In this syllabus they determine the object to be their learning namely English Education (Bachelor Degree) as well as the previous group. TELL Course Week 3 : Technology for Teaching Writing Syllabus

At the third meeting on On Monday, February 03, 2020. It's time for the first group to present the syllabus that they have designed about Teaching Writing and also what technology can be used by teachers to support the learning process. In their syllabus, they determine the level of students as their learning object namely English Education (Bachelor Degree).  And one type of technology that they emerge in their learning is a website from the internet namely  TED Talks which is a website that contains a collection of speeches from various speakers from all over the world but certainly speak English, then students are asked to watch and take note the important points and the main ideas from speech which delivered by the speakers. TELL Course Week 2 : Technology for Teaching Writing

On the first meeting of TELL Course with Mr. Tubagus Zam Zam Al-Arif, S,Pd. M,Pd. On Monday, January 20, 2020 , We discuss about CALL, TELL, ICT, and CMC.
